Every Lederia design begins as an idea—an elegant Oxford, a relaxed driving shoe, a bold monkstrap. Once the style is agreed, it moves to our pattern cutting team.
Pattern cutting is the foundation of the shoe. The shape, fit, and balance all depend on this stage. As our pattern makers say:
“If the pattern isn’t perfect when it leaves our room, the shoe won’t be perfect when it leaves the workshop.”

In our leather room, shelves are lined with premium crust leather and suede, carefully selected for grain, texture, and consistency. Here, our clickers get to work.
Armed not with random blades, but with precision knives and metal patterns, they cut each piece of the upper by hand, following the natural lines of the hide. This is where waste is minimised and beauty is maximised—only the best sections of leather make it onto your shoes.

The Closing Room is one of the busiest spaces at Lederia. Here, individual leather pieces are transformed into a complete upper.
This department handles more operations than any other—skiving, stitching, lining, edge folding, and detailing. Every seam must be neat, every stitch exact. It’s a stage that calls for dexterity, patience, and a perfectionist’s eye.

Preparation is where all the other components that complete your shoes are brought together.
In true Lederia fashion, many components are made or finished in-house—heels, insoles, soles, and reinforcements are carefully cut and prepared to match each last and design. Each material is chosen for comfort, structure, and long-term wear, ensuring the shoe feels as good as it looks.

Lasting is where flat uppers become three-dimensional shoes.
The upper is pulled over the last—a sculpted form that defines the shoe’s shape, fit, and character. The last is the shoemaker’s core secret and the heart of every style.
At Lederia, we treat last development with extreme care, constantly refining our shapes for better comfort, balance, and elegance.

In the Making Room, your shoes gain their strength.
Here, the lasted upper is joined with the insole, midsole, and outsole. Depending on the design, we use time-tested construction methods such as Blake stitching or Goodyear welted (similar high-quality techniques that offer a balance of flexibility, durability, and sleek profile).
Every stitch, every bond is checked to ensure the shoes can stand up to daily wear while maintaining their refined appearance.

The Finishing Room team works on the soles and uppers, carefully trimming, buffing, edge colouring, waxing, and burnishing. Patinas are deepened and refined, heels are shaped, and each pair is hand-finished to achieve that signature Lederia look that our customers appreciate so much.
